ENCULTURATION


This term is used when there is a self-training and learning of a primary culture. You as a social being become part of a new system of a rule-governed world. Enculturation is a lifelong process in which there are new patterns everywhere. This affects our perseption and worldview of any people.

Example:

A young girl who is not from Great-Britain has lived there and she called herself a British. She identifies with her new popular culture, but at her home, her parents still preserve their beliefs and traditions from their country.
